Im flying off to Naples, Italy for an overseas conference in about 12 hours and strangely, I don't really feel like I'm actually taking an overseas trip. Maybe because it's for work. Being someone who's a little afraid of flying, I don't even feel the jitters that I normally do!
Anyway, I realised I had not really read up on what Naples is famous for (besides Pompeii), so, I went to Wikipedia to read more. Ok ok, I was looking more at the food section coz anyway, I'm at a conference, and secondly, post-conference tour is already set, so no need to read too much on sights right?
And guess what! It seems pizza started from there! It also seems that Neapolitan cuisine is well known for its rich savoury dishes & it's famous for pizza, pasta & seafood (it's a coastal area). Hmm...desserts include (what else!) gelato and some pastry kind like zeppole, baba, sfogiatelle & pastiera. They are also the producer of limoncello (a lemon liquer)! Haha! oh no, writing this is already making me hungry. Yummy!
Ok, hope I'll enjoy my stay there. Till then!
