I never thought I would get into the F1 fever but it all started a couple of days before the race. With all the hype and sudden fever coming on, I caught the practice session on TV and that sealed my fate. Anyway, how could anyone resist fast cars?
I could just feel myself getting more excited as I watched the practice session, then the qualifying session, which was a boost, as 3 faves clinched the lead. 1) Massa, 2) Hamilton & 3) Raikkonen. Think it even affected my driving...no lah, never speed. But the feel of the car became more distinct.
Alas, tides turned on the race itself after Piquet's accident & the stupid "snake" incident that cost Massa his crown. Poor Kimi too was delayed as he came in just after Massa for his pit stop (both were Ferrari team) which caused Kimi to drop to 16th place. All the positions were jumbled up. But Kimi managed to get to 3rd place until he made a pit stop that put him in 5th place, then the worst thing happened. He crashed to the side after a miscalculated turn during the final 4/5 laps! Oh no...He was just 7-8 sec behind! *sigh*
Yes, you've guessed it. I was rooting for Kimi. This sounds really shallow, but I've a soft spot for him since the time I saw him a Tag Heuer poster a couple of years back. Think it's got to do with his eyes...Think I watched the race because of him too. Hmm...
After the race, strangely, I felt a sense of loss. I was like "It's over?!". Well, can't wait for the next one!
