人之初性本善

My friend was telling me she doesn't really believe that "人之初性本善".

After giving it some thought, I still believe that it is so, that we are born kind-natured/innocent, and it is the environment that makes us change.
After all, we are created in God's image.
It's something like the story of Adam & Eve...in the beginning, they were innocent and carefree. However, when the serpent came, they succumb to temptation and sin & shame entered.
