The GE and me

I'm not one who follows politics much, but with the General Elections coming soon, thought maybe I should post something about it, especially since its Nomination Day (all contested except Tanjong Pagar).

Generally, being the docile folk I am, I've always kind of supported PAP, though more for historical reasons. All those nation-building stories. But somehow, my confidence in them has kind of wavered a little as they have not been handling issues well, and especially in their response to the recent spate of opposition arguments. An amusing article highlights this.

Sadly, I don't see them rising to address the issues raised with convincing arguments, but just going round & round the topic or point fingers. I can't say I'd really followed in detail all the "crossfire" going on, but it seems there's some difficulty in raising a comparable younger generation of politicians in PAP.

Hmm...

  1. I wish I didn't even have to vote at all, because like I read somewhere, we may have lost our confidence in one, but then the other available choice doesn't seem to make the cut either.

I'm just extremely annoyed that there are some people who seem to be blindly supporting the underdogs just because. I doubt they even know what's going on but just believing all the bad about the ruling party, and believing all the good about the challengers.
