Hee...so happy I managed to solve this brainteaser which a trainer posed during 1 of my courses. It was the easier of 2 where the 1st one couldn't be solved by anyone in our class of 7. Ok, let me try to recall what the words were:
"There are 3 switches outside a room which are each connected to a lamp. The room has no windows and is only accessible via a door, which is closed. You are outside the room and cannot see the lamps from outside the room. You are only allowed to enter the room once. How can you determine which switch is connected to which lamp?"

1st, you turn on one of the switches for some time. Then, you turn it off and turn on another switch, and go into the room. The 1st lamp turned on would be warm, and the 2nd switch would be connected to the currently lit lamp while the remaining switch would be the lamp not turned on at all. :)
ReplyDeleteOh... haha. I was thinking, I would just look down through the hole (between door and floor) to check.
ReplyDeleteBut I guess the door is supposed to be touching the floor huh ;p
And I guess I've read the question wrongly ... haha.
ReplyDeleteMisread it as, only ONE switch is connected to the lamp and we have to guess which one of the three is connected.
Ok, I so have to go to bed NOW! ;p
