How do I get to...?

I've been a little frazzled over a colleague's comment over the weekend (maybe it's the bad weather too, so hot & humid). She had asked me for directions, which I gave her and she blamed me for the bad signage. Well, I'm not responsible for the poor signage given by authorities, but I did my best to give a simple route with minimal distractions. If it's too simple, fine, but the signage is not my fault. I can't remember every single signage that I pass by. She herself said that if she forgot everything I said, the signage doesn't lead her to the destination clearly. Sometimes, looking at all these tend to make one lose focus.
(Just letting off some steam here, so that I can forget about the whole matter and still work well with her)

Anyway, I was still bothered by it (though I was a bit 慢半拍, as I didn't really realised that it wasn't my fault with the signage until later) and it came to me that don't we treat God the same way?

We ask for directions from Him. Well, He gives His directions to follow strictly, but we tend to get distracted by other things like signages (which could be bad) and we say to Him, "thanks God, but...". We start following those other routes which can be a big detour, or get you lost. And then we blame God, saying "I followed your directions wat". But actually, we didn't really trust in Him fully to strictly follow his "simple, clear-cut" plan, where the path is straight. He won't say "I told you so" or rebuke you, but still faithfully leads you back to the correct path so that you will not be lost.

Good thing we have a shepherd that never fails us, as compared to the doubtful and irritable nature of our own humanity. I guess it was a lesson learnt...maybe it is was a divine set-up. Haha...

(Afternote: Ok, I have to repent of being so easily frazzled.)
