Women have better peripheral vision

I was just reading a quote from Allan Pease, author of Why Men Don't Listen & Women Can't Read Maps, in an article.

"It's also interesting to note that in a public place like the beach or swimming pool, studies show that women ogle more than men," Pease points out. But because women are equipped with a better peripheral vision, they rarely get caught. On the other hand, "a man, lacking as he does good peripheral vision, turns his head to look and goes into a trance-like state."
